April 7, 2017 – Transplant Gazanias, SGK Home Weeding, Jackie Hancock –
Richard’s Mother, Flat Stanley Oxen Ride, Elder Trythall
We were working in the
propagation room transplanting Gazania seedlings for the first hour and a half
of our work day. After it warmed up outside we spent the rest of the day at
Sarah Granger Kimball’s Historic Home pulling the last of the weeds we couldn’t
finish yesterday. Now that that’s done we have another 30 plus flowerbeds to
clean elsewhere on the grounds of Historic Nauvoo.
We are still busy helping our grandson, Alex
Johnson, with his school project. A couple of weeks ago he sent us “Flat
Stanley” to show a good time in Historic Nauvoo. So far we’ve taken him with us
to see the Temple, the Historic Sites and many other places. Today Flat Stanley
got to see the oxen at the Oxen Cart rides here in Nauvoo. Even better, Flat
Stanley even got to ride one of the oxen.
Tonight Sis. Johnson and I, along with the Emma
Hale Cast, had another rehearsal of “Sunset by the Mississippi.” Thanks to Sis.
Rober’s patient instructions we are making very good progress in our dance
numbers. By the time we start performing in May, it will be a great show.
