May 20, 2017 – Ray & Debbie to Lincoln Museum, Temple Sealings, Sunset
Rehearsal on Stage
Today Sis. Johnson’s
sister and husband, Debbie & Ray Quist, drove to the state capital,
Springfield ILL. to tour the historic Lincoln home and the Lincoln Museum. They had a great time seeing everything about
the history of Abraham Lincoln. Sis. Johnson and I made the same trip last
summer and thoroughly enjoyed it too.
Debbie and Ray got back to Nauvoo in time to go to
the Temple with us and do sealings for some of the ancestors Amanda (Debbie
& Ray’s daughter that passed away in April) had already researched and
started some of the proxy work for. It was a privilege to be in the temple
giving service to those on the other side of the vale, especially knowing that
our precious Amanda is there with them now watching us complete the work she
started.
This evening we had
another rehearsal for “Sunset by the Mississippi” but for the first time we
were on the real “Sunset Stage.” Until now we’ve had all of our rehearsals
indoors at the Pageant building so today was special because we had a better
feel for our positions, blocking, routines, etc.
It is very scary though, we will be performing live
on this very stage in only a week from today. And, we will only have one more
rehearsal before opening night. We sure looked unorganized and even confused at
times. I sure hope this all comes together so we can put on a good show we can
all be proud of.
