Tuesday, October 04, 2016 – Nauvoo Visitor’s Center Flower Beds
Today we finished
pulling the last of the Visitor’s Center flower beds. We tore out all of the
beautiful flowers and plants and once again took them to the compost pile. But
never fear, next summer they will all be back and as beautiful as ever. However,
next spring, these flower beds will be alive with color. We well be planting
tulip bulbs soon in Nauvoo and Carthage.
Richard told me today
that the mission’s tulip bulb order has been shipped. Twenty four thousand
tulip bulbs are enroute from Holland. Next spring all of the flower beds in Old
Nauvoo will be filled with beautiful tulips in bloom.
Sis. Johnson and I will
still have a lot of work left to do in all of the flowerbeds in Old Nauvoo.
Even though we’ve pulled all of the annual flowers, most of the flowerbeds also
have perennials like bushes, hardwoods, vines, etc. So the flowerbeds will still require care,
upkeep and cleaning. There won’t be any shortage of work for us to do.
