Sunday, Oct. 23, 2016 – Sunday Services, Lunch with Anderson’s,
Committee Meeting
Sis. Johnson woke up
with a sore throat and cough. She isn’t feeling well and so will stay home from
church. She plans to take it easy and rest so she’ll feel well enough to go to
the committee meeting this evening for the “Christmas Walk & Tree lighting”
event she’s in charge of.
At noon we had a lunch
appointment with Kathleen & Leonard Anderson. Sis. Johnson didn’t go but I
went and ate enough for both of us! Seriously, the food was so good I did eat
enough for two.
The Anderson’s accidently discovered Sis.
Johnson and I about two weeks ago while we were planting bulbs in the “Women’s
Garden” by the visitor’s center. (See: Tuesday, October 11, 2016) As it turns
out, Sis. Anderson is my cousin. It’s
great to have family so close. And, we really appreciated the invitation for
Lunch with them. Mmmm, Goood! Their six month mission call to serve in the
Nauvoo Temple is almost over and they will be returning home the first week of
November.
This evening we had our
first large committee meeting for the “Christmas Walk & Tree lighting”
program to be held December
This mission-wide event
will require the work of every single missionary in the mission and most of
them will have multiple assignments. There will be set up, decorating, live
nativity, caroling, refreshments, Christmas story narration, parking, security
and that’s not all of the assignments, there are another eight sub-committees
in addition to those I mentioned. This is a huge event and Sis. Johnson is over
it all! Prayers in her behalf are welcome.
