Sunday, May 8, 2016 – Mother’s Day, Video calls,

It’s been a beautiful Mother’s Day; our sacrament meeting was centered on Mother’s Day. The mission president gave every sister in the mission a keepsake figurine entitled “Joseph and Emma.” The mission president not only gave the figurine to the mothers, but also to the future mothers. And then he explained further, they are for all women who nurture, mothers or not. The gift was a very nice tribute to all women and mothers in the mission.

After the Visitor’s Center closed for the day, four YSSM’s (Young Single Sister Missionaries) that serve here at the visitor’s center came over to our house. They used our electronic devices to Skype or FaceTime their mothers. They were each allowed an hour for the call so they all had plenty of time to talk and see their families.

 

This evening Sis. Johnson got to video chat with her sons and their families for a couple of hours. This modern era with all of the electronic options is wonderful.
