Friday, May 13, 2016 – Watering, Sister Missionaries for dinner
Sis. Johnson  and I woke up this morning really tired and sore from all of the work yesterday planting the flower beds and Terracotta containers.  But sore or not today is another work day and there is a lot to get done. I will be mowing all day at both the visitor’s center and at the Bushnell house. Sis. Johnson will be working here at the visitor’s center planting, watering and cleaning sidewalks before the guests start to arrive at 9:00AM.

Yesterday Richard, the horticulturist from FM, told us that all 50 of the Terracotta containers need to be re-watered this morning as well as all of the flower beds. Then, they won’t need to be watered for several more days. Unfortunately, all of the new plants must be hand watered. So, after Sis. Johnson got all of the sidewalks blown and bird poop scrubbed off she re-watered everything with the garden hose.
Richard also told us that one of the large terracotta containers was missed yesterday so this morning Sis. Johnson got to plant it too. It’s a big pretty one too.

This evening we had two of the YSM’s (Young Sister Missionaries) over for dinner. This time it was Sis. Farrell and Sis. Schenck, the same two YSM’s we had over on Sunday to make their video calls home on Mother’s Day. In this mission (and probably church wide) all missionaries that are invited for dinner should leave the family with a spiritual message before they leave. Sis. Farrell and Sis. Schenck’s message to us was on missionary work. It was very good. Here are the scriptures they quoted from:
Moroni  7:13 “. . . every thing which inviteth and enticeth to do good, and to love God, and to serve him, is inspired of God.”
Mosiah 2:17 “. . . when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God.”
3 Nephi  5:13 “. . . I am a disciple of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. I have been called of him to declare his word among his people, that they might have everlasting life.”
Words to live by!
