Saturday,
October 21, 2017 – Ft. Worth BBQ, Packing, Rendezvous, Bowlers
Before doing our P-day shopping today, Sis.
Johnson and I treated ourselves out to lunch. We tried a new restaurant others
have highly recommended. You can’t go wrong with a restaurant who’s name sounds
delicious, “Fort Worth Barbecue!” It was very good and we can add our names to
the list of people that highly recommend this restaurant.
The countdown is on and
Sis. Johnson and I are cleaning and packing every free moment we have. We have
a week left of work on the grounds for FM and then we will be cleaning a
packing in earnest next Saturday.
Tonight at our “Rendezvous in Old Nauvoo” show we
were favored to watch the final performance of our good friends, Elder &
Sis. Bowler. We’ve known the Bowlers since we served together in Carthage
during the summer of 2016. The Bowlers are hard working dedicated missionaries
in every aspect of missionary life here in Nauvoo.
During our pre-show meeting we sang a “Goodbye”
song to Elder & Sis. Bowler that we sing to departing missionaries. It is
an emotional moment and there is many a tear shed as we sing goodbye to our
good friends. The song is sung to the tune of “I hope They Call Me on a
Mission.” When we finished singing to the Bowlers, we gave them a standing
ovation.
SO,
YOU WERE CALLED TO SERVE A MISSION,
WHEN
YOU HAD AGED A YEAR OR TWO.
YOU
LFET YOUR HOME AND ALL YOUR GRANDKIDS,
TO
PREACH AND TEACH AND SERVE IN HISTORIC OLD NAUVOO.
THE
DAYS YOU THOUGHT WERE NEVER-ENDING.
THE
NIGHTS – SUNSET AND RENDEZVOUS!
BUT
WE WILL NEVER LOSE THE MEMORIES,
OF
WHAT YOU’VE LEFT WITH US STILL SERVING IN NAUVOO.
SO
NOW, YOU HEAD BACK TO THE REAL WORLD.
THE
TEARS SHED, THERE MAY BE A FEW.
YOU’LL
TAKE OFF YOUR MISSIONARY BADGES,
BUT
YOU WILL NOT BE FORGOTTEN HERE IN OLD NAUVOO.
