Thursday, June 2, 2016 – Work, Alpacas, Cleaning assignment, Mail from
home, Trina Gibbs
This morning was another
full day of work at the Carthage Visitor’s Center for Sis. Johnson and I. Then
this evening we were back in Nauvoo for our production of “Sunset by the
Mississippi.” Before tonight’s show we
had a special assignment, it was our turn to clean and audience seating area.
We had to pick up all of the trash & litter first. Then we had to scrub all
of the bird poop off of all of the seats. Yes . . . that was a lot of fun!
Before every night’s show two couples are assigned to do the cleaning.
Today is a “red letter
day” literally. We got mail from home, we love receiving mail. Jacob &
Wendy and their kids all wrote us letters. Jacob said the kids especially like
writing us letters plus he said, it makes for a good Sunday activity.
Now, on a sad note, we
received news today from our son Daniel that Trina Gibbs passed away
today. Daniel’s wife Mindy is Trina
Gibb’s daughter. She had been fighting cancer for a while. This will be a
difficult time for Mindy as she loved her mother very much. Our love and
prayers go out to Mindy & Dan and their family.
