Monday, June 20, 2016 – YSSM’s, Sunset by the Mississippi, Bugs
This morning, early,
the first two YSSM’s (Young Single Sis. Missionaries) came to the visitor’s
center grounds to get in some service hours. They helped Sis. Johnson clean and
prepare the grounds for the day’s visitors. Sis. Johnson really appreciated the
help. It meant she didn’t have to work as hard as usual.
My day was the same old
same old. I cleaned, poisoned ants, mowed, fixed sprinkler heads and fixed the
soaker hoses.
We went early to tonight’s
performance of “Sunset by the Mississippi”. We caught the last of the concert
before our performance. It was the Nauvoo Community Band and they were very
good. We really like to support the local community and their productions,
activities, fairs, etc. The church has a very good working relationship with
the people, merchants and the local government of Nauvoo. They help us and we
help them.
