Wednesday, Aug.17, 2016 – Mission-wide Trg. Mtg. Cancelled, Sis. Johnson’s 30#’s, Shopping

Normally we have a mission-wide training meeting on Wednesday mornings but this week the meeting was cancelled. A new member of the mission presidency was called and set apart last week so this morning’s meeting was only for the new mission presidency and their training.

Since we didn’t drive in to Nauvoo like usual, Sis. Johnson and I were able to work all morning here in Carthage and at the Bushnell House. It was a beautiful and pleasant morning and we got a lot done. Sis. Johnson continued her cleaning and killing weeds. I spent most of the morning on the lawn mower.

We’ve been here in Carthage 4½ months since arriving in Illinois on April 1^st.  Since we got here

Sis. Johnson and I have been putting in a lot of hard physical work every day. Plus we’ve been watching our diet and as a result Sis. Johnson is very pleased to announce that she has lost 30 pounds!  Wow, that’s 30 pounds in only four and a half months.  She’s done very well.  I’m a little behind her, I’ve lost 25 pounds in the same time period.

As a result of our weight loss, we decided to drive to Macomb, Illinois this afternoon and go shopping for some new cloths. It is a real pleasure to have to buy new clothes because everything you own is too big!
