Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2016 – Rain, 40 Centerpieces
It rained this morning
so we got very little done on the grounds of the Carthage Visitor’s
Center. It started at about 8:00am and
didn’t stop until mid-afternoon. I did manage to get some lawn mowing done and
Sis. Johnson got the sidewalks cleaned before we had to quit.
We spent most of the day
working in the house on 40 centerpieces. Sis. Johnson and I are helping with
the decorations for our mission-wide breakfast in a couple of days. She is
assembling 40 centerpiece rings (small wreaths) of greenery. The foliage rings will go around a central
card older on each table at the breakfast.
For the materials, I
trimmed some of the oak and cypress trees here at the visitor’s center. The
foliage is from low hanging limbs that are scheduled to be pruned back anyway. I
prepped the materials and Sis. Johnson put them together. She didn’t get the
last one assembled until late tonight. Sis. Johnson’s foliage wreaths look real
good.
