Wednesday, July 20, 2016 –Tour Guide

This morning we were at it early again cleaning before the Visitor’s Center opens at 9:00AM. Usually cars, vans, motor homes and tour buses start to arrive a little before 9:00AM because everyone knows we don’t open until then. But, this morning a tour bus arrived a little after 8:00AM, much too early. 

Sis. Johnson spoke to the tour leader and he was just a little matter of fact with his frustration. Evidently he couldn’t understand why special accommodations couldn’t be made for his tour and have the Visitor’s Center open an hour early just for him! He said he called guest services to get the Jail tour opened early for him and he was told that due to training meetings and scheduling the Jail tour would open at its regular time. His parting comment to Sis. Johnson was, “They need to cancel ALL meetings in July.”

 

I don’t think he really needed the tours to start an hour early. This tour guide had his own personal wireless broadcasting system to talk to all of his guests on their own personal earbuds. While his tour waited for the Jail tour to start, he spent the whole time teaching all of his guests about The Prophet Joseph Smith, his brother Hyrum and their martyrdom. He was very well prepared; I’ll bet he did a great job for his customers.
