Monday, July 18, 2016 – Carthage Jail Tour, The Gurr’s leave

This morning was a regular work day for Sis. Johnson and I. We started early and while we were doing our morning chores, Ruth & Adam Gurr and family started packing. We’ve had a wonderful five days with them. We’re sorry to see them go.
Later in the morning after a scrumptious breakfast prepared by Sis. Johnson we all took another tour of the Carthage Jail. Last week when the Gurr’s arrived we all took the tour. But I think the Carthage Jail tour is the highlight of all the church history sites in and around Nauvoo. This tour is the perfect way to start and end your “Historic Nauvoo” church history visit.
The Gurr’s plan to drive to Adam-ondi-Ahman and hit all of the church history sites along the way and beyond, including Liberty Jail in Missouri. They still have a week and a half left of their vacation and that will give them plenty of time to visit other  church history sites on their way home including Martin’s Cove, etc.
