Sunday,
August 06, 2017 – Sis. Hipple – Rendezvous’ New Director, E&S Huffaker
We had a wonderful Fast and Testimony meeting
today. The Pageant is over now and “Sunset” is winding down. There are a lot of
Senior couples going home in a few weeks and all of the Young Performing
Missionaries will be going home soon too. Many of them gave wonderful
testimonies including one of the Pageant coordinators, Sis. Beecher. Wow, what
great testimonies by her and everyone else. Our Mission President, Pres. Hall
was the first to bear his testimony and he set the tone for everyone else who
followed him. He bore a powerful and uplifting testimony of Nauvoo, the Prophet
Joseph Smith and the restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Equally powerful and significant were the testimonies
of our two directors, Sis. Rober and Sis. Moench. Both go home in only a few
weeks. Sis Rober is our director of “Sunset by the Mississippi” and Sis. Moench
is our director of “Rendezvous in Old Nauvoo.” Both sisters bore powerful and
moving testimonies of their work as directors along with special thanks to all
those who worked so hard to make this year’s productions successful and full of
“The Spirit of Nauvoo.”
And speaking of Sis. Moench going home in a few
weeks, her departure necessitates a replacement as the director of
“Rendezvous.” Directing “Rendezvous” is no small task. It is a full time job
and the director is required to be at every show every night, six nights a week
usually from 6:00PM to 10:00PM. Earlier
this week the announcement was made that the new director will be Sis. Hipple.
Today after our Sunday services I offered my congratulation to Sis. Hipple on
her new calling and I offered my condolences to Elder Hipple on the loss of his
wife! HaHaHa. But seriously, Sis. Hipple will do a great job.
